Richard E. & Helen J. Mckechnie

A love story comes to an end. On May 12, 2023, Richard Edward McKechnie, born on December 17, 1944, passed away peacefully at home. Just two days later, on May 14, 2023, his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Helen Joanne McKechnie, born on July 23, 1945, joined him in eternal rest.

Richard and Helen leave behind a legacy of love and a lifetime of cherished memories. They are survived by their two sons, Kenny (Diana) and Kevin, and their daughter Kelly (Mike); six grandchildren, Kira, Kade, Kimora, Kellan, Juliet Hitt, and Kate Hitt; and Richard’s brother Robert McKechnie (Joan).

Richard and Helen loved vacationing in Lake Tahoe and spending long days on the beach with their children. Their greatest joy was sitting in the stands watching their three children play sports. Their love for each other is a real-life story book.

Services will be on June 1st at St. Mary Parish in East Sacramento at 10:30am.  A celebration of life will follow.
