Timothy Michael McCormack passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend whose goodness and dedication touched the lives of many.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Loretta and James McCormack, Tim moved to Sacramento with his family at the age of four, where he built a life rooted in service and community. A longtime East Sacramento resident, he attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and Christian Brothers High School. After two years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard, Tim followed his passion for public service by joining the Sacramento City Fire Department. He later earned a bachelor's degree in Fire Administration from Cogswell Polytechnical College.

Tim had an enduring love for the outdoors. Whether running along the American River Parkway, hiking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, or exploring Point Reyes National Seashore, nature was his sanctuary. He was also deeply committed to preserving the history of firefighting. As an active member of Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522 and a founding member of the Pioneer Mutual Hook & Ladder Society, he dedicated countless hours to supporting his fellow firefighters and advocating for the creation of a fire museum in Sacramento. His vision became a reality with the opening of the Sacramento Regional Fire Museum in November 2019, a testament to his unwavering dedication and passion.

Tim is survived by his son, Ron McCormack; his daughters, Deborah Eldridge and Nicole Flick; and his beloved grandchildren, Violet Eldridge, Timothy Eldridge, Sydney Flick, and Katie Flick. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Patrick, and Michael.

A memorial service will be held on March 8, 2025, at W.F. Gormley & Sons at 12:00 p.m. (2015 Capitol Ave, Sacramento, CA 95811), with a reception to follow at the Sacramento Regional Fire Museum (3650 Industrial Blvd, West Sacramento, CA 95691).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tim's honor to the Sacramento Regional Fire Museum or the Alzheimer's Association, organizations that were dear to him.

Tim's legacy of service, love for his family, and commitment to his community will be cherished and remembered always.

"We only part to meet again."
