Suzanne Rae Thelene

Suzanne Rae Bourgerie Thelen, 79, passed away surrounded by her family on March 31, 2024, at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, California.  She was born on September 10,1944 in Moore Park, Illinois. After moving to Santa Barbara with her parents, Dick and Helen Bourgerie, in 1962, she stayed on the West Coast living in Laguna Beach, Incline Village, Nevada, and finally settling in Fair Oaks, CA. 

Suzanne “Sue” was married in 1982 to her beloved husband Larry A. Thelen with whom who she enjoyed traveling the world, throughout their 42 year marriage. After her move to Fair Oaks, Sue attended American River College and worked as a Paralegal in Sacramento until the late 1990s. 

Sue is survived by her children Jeffery and Rebecca Goheen, Erin and Corey Auernig, Lisa and Dan Dillon, her devoted grandchildren, Lauren Oebker, Tara Thelen, Emily and Megan Auernig,  Bailey and Lexi Dillon, Austin, Savannah, Kayla and Jenna Troup, her beautiful new great-grandchildren Dutton and Bowman Hagen and her brother and his wife Rich and Jo Bourgerie.  She is now with her stepson Richard Thelen. (1967-2017).

Grandma Sue was actively involved in her children and grandchildren lives, supporting, loving and laughing with them always. She was to her extended family always the epitome of beauty, strength, and compassion.  All who knew her found her graciousness, creativity and spicy sense of humor to be an ever-present contribution to their lives.
