Sister Mary Brett

Sister Mary Brett returned to the arms of God on December 27, 2021 having served God as a Sister of Mercy for over sixty years. Born in County Tipperary, Ireland on January 22, 1944 to Patrick and Catherine Brett, she is survived by her brothers, Jerry, Michael and Willy Brett and her sisters Sheila and Bridget Ryan.  She is predeceased by her brother Philip.  Sister Mary was a dedicated teacher serving at Catholic elementary schools throughout the Sacramento area.  She is most beloved by the staff and students of St. Rose School in Roseville where she served during the later years of her ministry. Although she suffered from severe arthritis throughout her life, she was known for her hospitality, gentleness and generous spirit. 

Due to Covid restrictions, a public celebration of Sr. Mary’s life will be held at a later time.
