Sidney Allen Ames

Sidney passed away on June 18, 2021. He was born in San Francisco, California to William and Jean Ames Jr on February 15, 1936. He faithfully served in the United States Air Force in Okinawa working on plane engines. Sidney was a longtime local health insurance broker. He loved the outdoors, whether it was mountain biking, white water kayaking, skier, or simply camping in nature. He loved Pebble Beach and Echo Lake. Another love of his was car races, specifically racing his Porsche at Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, and Sonoma Raceway.

Sidney is survived by his loving wife, Hoa Ames, beloved daughters Miki Nelsen and Marcy Goodman, grandsons Mitchell and Bret Nelsen, nieces Leslie and Jessica Ames, and step-sons Injo and Inhan McGraw. He will be missed deeply by all those that loved him and cherished his friendship. Those closest to him will think about him while eating thai food or vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, as he enjoyed both.
