Born in Wonewoc, WI to Henry & Alta Roehrs.
Graduated HS in l946, then spent 3 years as a Merchant Seaman on the Great Lakes. Graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1953 and was a proud member of their crew team & lifelong Badger supporter. Served 2 years in the Army & 5 years working for Kraft Foods. Then Bob moved to Sacramento where he started a 37 year career with Prudential Insurance and met his loving wife, Phyllis (Tomei), of 62 years. In addition to Phyllis, Bob is survived by son Kevin and wife Marcy Merrill, daughter Michele and husband Steve Miller, 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Camryn, Anna, and Henry (who knew him as Gramps), nieces and nephews, and loving caregivers Connie and nephew Sean. Preceded in death by son Gary, his parents, brother Howard, and sisters LaVerne Bauer and LaVeda O’Keefe. Member of the American Legion, Wisconsin AA & National W Club. Bob enjoyed hiking, biking & traveling. He supported the Lutheran HS in Elk Grove & performed regularly in the Jesuit HS Spring Fling show. For 40 years he supported Breathe California of Sacramento with annual hikes and bike rides--becoming their all-time leading fund raiser. Memorial service at Sacramento's Trinity Lutheran Church, 27th &O St. will occur Thursday, December 22, 11:00 AM. Reception following.
