Beloved husband of the late Dolores Gallagher, loving father of Kerry Gallagher Vickers and husband Gary Vickers, cherished Grandfather of Sean Vickers and Caitlin Vickers, loving Uncle of Nancy Dobbins. A native of Oakes, North Dakota, and a 85 year resident of Sacramento, aged 96 years old. A veteran of World War II stationed in Pearl Harbor. Raymond worked 37 years at the Sacramento Army Depot and over 25 years at Cordova Golf Course, retiring at 92 years old. He was a founding member of the Sacramento Water Ski Club (President 1958 & 1975), over 30 years with the Sacramento Golden Seniors winning two World Series (1994 & 2006), 1993 LaSalle Club Baseball Hall of Fame, at 22 years old was recruited by Ardmore Indians (Cleveland Indian Farm team), Golfer for 50 years making first hole in one in 1988, 50 Gallon Blood donor, member of Elks 2103, member of American Legion, Artist, Poet and loved playing the Ukulele. He never missed a daily crossword puzzle. But, mostly incredible family man. He will be missed at the Honl family reunion this summer.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered for the repose of his soul at St Ignatius Church, 3235 Arden Way, Sacramento, Tuesday, May 31, at 11:00am. Private interment for the family only will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
