Michael Schuering

Michael Schuering, 75, of Sacramento, CA, passed away on January 27, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children. He was born in Sacramento, California in 1948 to Leo and Jackie Schuering. He attended Christian Brothers and CK McClatchy High Schools and graduated from California State University Sacramento. Mike was a proud United States Army Veteran and dedicated employee of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

He is survived by his loving wife Stephanie, two children: Michael Jr. (Danielle), Jana (George), four grandchildren, Lana, George, Nolan, and Mikaela. Mike is also survived by his brother Leo Schuering, and loving nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his mother Jackie, father Leo and brother Jasper (Duke) Schuering.

Throughout his life, he selflessly served his country and community, demonstrating unwavering courage and loyalty. Mike will forever be remembered for his commitment to justice and his compassion towards others. He was a mentor to his colleagues, always offering guidance and support, and earning the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

In his personal life, Mike was an accomplished athlete and martial artist, avid sportsman and football fanatic. He was a fierce friend, proud husband, father, and grandfather. Known for his love of music, dancing and the San Francisco 49ers, Mike will be remembered as being the life of the party.

A funeral service will be held at Gormley and Sons on February 8, at 12:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christian Brothers High School, Brother David Brennan, FSC scholarship fund.
