Weintraub Tobin mourns the loss of our friend and colleague, Mary Siceloff. Mary was the Firm’s Chief Marketing officer from 2018 through her passing on December 23, 2024, and was instrumental in raising visibility and growing opportunities for the Firm’s attorneys, practices, and offices.
A lifelong creator, Mary began her career in Los Angeles, producing and executive producing television commercials and visual effects. She founded and headed her own production company alongside director David Wild and worked independently for some of the top names in commercial production.
After over a decade of successfully producing and executive producing award-winning commercials and short films, she founded and ran an art gallery and tea room, which led to developing and running an independent film-screening series, Fringe Film.
Mary then turned her communication, technology, and business expertise to legal marketing, working with nationwide and regional law firms to design and implement growth strategies. She began on the East Coast and worked her way west to eventually land at Weintraub Tobin in the Firm’s Sacramento office.
A leader of a team of three, integral part of the Firm’s administrative team, and member of various leadership organizations and groups, Mary left a legacy of excellence and kindness wherever she went. Her commitment to quality was unparalleled, often taking time to give attention to the tiniest details and pursue solutions when they did not seem possible. Her team fondly recalls her “3am thoughts,” a daily well of ideas and notes that were no doubt the result of her relentless dedication to all that she did.
In her community work, Mary was Chair of the Sacramento City Group, incoming Chair and immediate past Vice-Chair of the Bay Area Local Steering Committee, and facilitator of the Northern California Legal Marketer Roundtable for the Legal Marketing Association (LMA). She also chaired the committee for the Capital Region Family Business Center Generations Conference. Outside of the world of business, Mary gave her time to the Sacramento SPCA as a dog socializer, foster home, and events volunteer.
Mary won multiple ADDYs and Communicator Awards for her legal marketing, as well as a Your Honor award from the Legal Marketing Association. The visual effects she produced for the movie Total Recall won an Academy Award. In 2024, Mary was recognized as a C-Suite Awards honoree by the Sacramento Business Journal.
“I was fortunate to call Mary a colleague, friend, and mentor,” said Jennel Fernandez, Chief Administrative Officer for the Firm. “She started each morning with a ‘word of the day’ to guide her daily intentions and purpose. Mary’s unwavering kindness and dedication will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.”
“Mary was the consummate professional and provided tremendous value to the Firm,” said Gary Bradus, Managing Shareholder. “More importantly, Mary was a wise, caring and kind person, giving her time generously to others. I will miss her but her many contributions to our firm and the community will cause her to be remembered for many years to come.”
Weintraub Tobin will celebrate Mary with a private celebration of life in January. A public memorial service is expected later in February.
