Lynwood Houser Gaskin

Sacramento, California - Lynwood Houser Gaskin aka Dad, Uncle Lyn, Brother, Bruz, and family favorite, Granddaddy, entered into eternal rest on June 4, 2021.
Lynwood was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on May 22, 1934 to Marion Dreher Gaskin and Maud Sharpe Gaskin.
He was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and Presbyterian College, Class of 1956.
After college and serving in the U.S. Army, Lynwood headed to California to spend the summer, met the love of his life Janet Kay Behrens ("Jan") and stayed for the rest of his life. They were married in 1960 and settled in San Carlos, CA.
Lynwood spent his professional career in the savings and loan/banking industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was a southern gentleman, good dancer, loved to throw a party, enjoyed family time at Lake Tahoe, a nice glass of wine, crossword puzzles, antique shopping, filling walls with artwork, the performing arts, the bible, bragging about his kids/grandkids, and was really good at rolling his eyes if a story went too long. While he was a man of many great qualities, he will be remembered most for loving and caring for his "bride" Jan until her passing in 2003. Lynwood wore a necklace with Jan's wedding ring to keep her close to his heart until his last breath.
He spent the last 18 years of his life in Auburn, Lake of the Pines and most recently Sacramento.
Lynwood is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Roger & Gisele Gaskin, daughter and son-in-law Janet Lynn & Timothy Young, and two grandsons, Alexander Gaskin and Mathew Gaskin.
