Sacramento, California - Keith Schiele passed away peacefully at home October 21st surrounded by his family. He was born August 2 1936 in Ogden, Utah and moved to Sacramento at age 7. He was the third child of 13. He attended Christian Brothers High School and met his lifelong soulmate Patricia (Doyle) Schiele, who attended St. Francis High. They married in 1957 and started a life of love and devotion to each other and their family. Keith was in the Marine Corps Reserve and joined the Sacramento Police Department at age 21, becoming their youngest police officer at that time. His career spanned 31 years and he rose up the ranks to become Deputy Chief of Police. He was widely respected at the Department and was known for his compassion and fairness. Keith was active in the Boy Scouts, Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Church, including Immaculate Conception, St Peter's and St Mary's. He loved the Oakland A's, poker, travel, and spending time with his family, especially evenings playing cards and annual trips to Aptos beach. Keith is survived by his spouse Patricia and children Jeffery(Angela), Anthony (Jenny), Mark(Liz), Daniel (Cheryl) and Kathy(Brian)Reilly. His family includes eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Vigil services will be held at WF Gormley and Sons Thursday Oct 27th at 4:00pm. The funeral will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on 58th street Friday October 28th at 10:00am with graveside services at St. Mary's cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers please send donations to jerusalemfarm.org, a nonprofit organization headed by his grandson Jordan Schiele.
