Joseph Lawrence Flores 4/15/1934 – 11/9/2021 Adored and beloved father of Jolynne, Norman (Debbie), and Kenneth (Adriana); grandfather to Kristina (Michael), Sarah, and Elizabeth; and forever friend to many, who had a magnetic smile and infectious laugh. Joseph was born in Sacramento and always called it home. He served as an Altar Boy at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament; and was an active alumnus of Holy Angels Elementary and Christian Brothers High School (Class of 1952), where he retained friendships from as far back as 1st Grade. He retired as a Petty Officer Second Class in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1957. He participated in Operations Wigwam and Passage to Freedom and served on the LST 827, LST 1048, and LST 1148. His time served not only directed his career as an electrician, but also matched his precise nature (“I served for four years and two days.”). He attended LST reunions around the country for many years. He was a 50-year member of IBEW Local Union 340. He last worked for Sacramento Unified School District as an electrician until an accident forced his retirement in 1981. He is survived by his beloved brother Paul; and preceded in death by brothers Peter, John, James, Faustino; and sisters Amelia, Eva, and Angela.
