Jeannette Marie Henning, a lifelong resident of Sacramento, born August 8, 1937, passed away peacefully with family at her side after a 5-year battle with lung cancer, on April 4, 2023. She is preceded in death by Grandmother Adeline Waterston and Mother Winifred Armstrong. She will be missed by sons Richard (Debbie) and Dennis Henning, Grandsons Andrew (Elizabeth) and Joshua Bo and her great grandson Joshua Thomas “JT”. She loved to be around people making friends very easily and always willing to Help! Mom’s most famous saying was “Drive Slow and Be Careful” if you were driving somewhere or even walking next door”. She worked 15 years as an LVN at Med Center (now UC Davis Med center) specializing in the Pediatric burn unit. Upon leaving she then started a 10 plus year career as a claims adjuster for Blue Cross of California. Upon retirement, Jeannette spent the next 25 plus years volunteering at St. Robert School (grandsons attended) and Christian Brothers High School (Sacramento). Rich, Dennis, Andrew and Bo are graduates. Mom made so many friends and touched so many hearts at these 2 schools. As she would say “She had the time of her Life” serving the families of St. Robert and Christian Brothers High School. Everyone knew and loved Mrs. Henning. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Always watching her sons and grandsons ball games. For 10 years she held court every home game down the right field line as her son Rich coached the CB baseball program. She loved visiting the casinos and was an avid bingo player. She lived the last 5 years of her life residing at Carlton Senior Living where she again touched many hearts. Love you MOM!
