Jean Lahey was born in Sacramento on December 24th 1932. She was the youngest of 4 daughters. Jean attended Holy Angels Elementary School and St. Joseph’s High School. She met her true love and soul mate, Dan Lahey when they were in Catholic Youth Organization together. They married when she was 19 and had three children, Shannon Lahey, Mike Lahey (Patti), and Steve Lahey (Martha). She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Archangel Lobue.
She worked as the Director of Development for Christian Brothers High School for several years. As a devout Catholic she served on numerous charitable organizations, such as, Christian Brothers La Salle Club, Mr. and Mrs. Club and The Sacramento Food Bank. She was a long-time parishioner of Holy Spirit church where she volunteered in the parish office with Helping Hands and served as an Usher for Sunday services.
Jean had many hobbies and interests. She loved a good card game and especially enjoyed playing Yahtzee with her grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Daniel and Steven. She was a very proud Grandmother, and was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed!
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered for the repose of her soul on Thursday, October 14 at 10am at Holy Spirit Church, 3159 Land Park Drive. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery will be private. Remembrances may be made in her memory to the Dan Lahey Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o of Christian Brothers High School, 4315 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Sac., CA., 95820.
