Gloria Almeda Meneses

Gloria A. Meneses, 74, of Elk Grove, California, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.  

Born on November 8, 1950, in Hernani, Eastern Samar, Philippines, Gloria was the beloved daughter of Digna and Getolio Almeda. In 1972, she married Air Force Staff Sergeant Herman Meneses while he was stationed at Clark Air Force Base, Philippines. Their union spanned over 52 years. 

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Gloria's greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her husband, Herman, and her four daughters: Emily LaRosa, Lorraine Rivera, Maria Bach, and Marlene McLaughlin. Her love extended to her grandchildren—Barbara, Michael, Christopher, Mariah, Elijah, Joshua, Aidan, and Ryan—whom she adored and treasured. Gloria is also survived by her sister, Maria Guarino.

Gloria loved listening to music and singing karaoke. Family gatherings were her favorite occasions, especially when her children and grandchildren gathered around the table for a spirited game of PIT. Her enthusiasm and joy during these moments were infectious, creating lasting memories for everyone involved. Among her proudest accomplishments was becoming a U.S. citizen, a milestone she celebrated with pride and gratitude.

Though we said goodbye far too soon, leaving a void in our hearts that will never be filled, we honor Gloria's quiet strength, shy smile, and boundless love.

A private viewing for family and friends will be held at W.F. Gormley & Sons Chapel in Sacramento, CA on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Gloria will be laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA, on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 10:30 AM.

 Her love, laughter, and light will remain with us always.
