Gloria Garcia

Gloria Garcia peacefully entered heaven's gates on July 1, 2022, at the elegant age of 93. It was in the home she shared with her husband for almost 60 years that she took her last breath here on earth. She was surrounded by loved ones who adored her and was greeted by precious ones who preceded her.

Gloria was born to Margaret and Luis Piseno on October 24, 1928, in Los Angeles, CA, and was 1 of 16 children. She spent most of her childhood and young adult life in Dinuba, CA where she completed all of her schooling and graduated from Dinuba High School in 1947. It was in Dinuba where she met and married the love of her life, Rudy Garcia. They moved to Sacramento in 1960 where they raised 5 spirited daughters.

Gloria was an extremely hardworking woman who came from a very humble upbringing. She held various jobs throughout her life, including farmworker, beautician, and a manager at a toy store. She was highly skilled with a sewing machine, winning first place for her entry at the California State Fair. Gloria was meticulous when it came to her garden and lawn, exercising her green thumb frequently. She was a long-standing sports fan of the SF Giants, 49ers, Kings and her grandchildren’s soccer games.

As a homemaker, Gloria took pride in her family and home.  Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother, devoting her life to cherishing and caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.  She dedicated her life to the Lord and had the heart of a true and faithful servant. She instilled strong family values that have been carried down for generations. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts until the time comes for all of her family to be reunited with her in heaven.

Gloria is survived by her 4 daughters: Evelyn (Oswaldo) Herrera, Yvonne Garcia, Irene Garcia, and Teresa (David) Aleman; her 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Rudy Garcia, and their beloved daughter, Ruth Dixson. All of whom she loved, cared for, and touched deeply.
