Obituary for Carlos Manuel Vina – “Keeping a song in his heart”…

Carlos Manuel Vina, born in Havana, Cuba November 25, 1934 passed away peacefully, after a long battle with heart disease on Wednesday December 14, 2022 in Elk Grove, California, surrounded by many friends & family. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Lupita Vina. He is also survived by his three sons and their wives Carlos and Veronica Vina, Gustavo and Theresa Vina, and Joe and Gina Vina. He was also the proud grandfather to 7 grandkids and 10 great grandkids. Most of his life he worked in the accounting field, and most notably was always a solid provider for his family. As a Cuban refuge, in 1961 bringing his wife, two sons and later his mother, his brother and in laws to America, he provided freedom to his family from the communist Cuban regime. As a proud Cuban and American, he went to school to learn English and worked several jobs in order to secure the family’s citizenship in the US of A. Carlos loved spending time with his family and serving the Lord. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was elected Knight of the Year in 2013-14. Carlos was a lover of people and many people loved him. Rosary and viewing is set for noon until 1:30pm on Tuesday, December 20th followed by mass at 2:00pm at St Charles Borromeo Catholic church, Sacramento, California. Reception to follow at St Joseph’s Catholic church, Elk Grove, California at 4:00pm.
