Ann Armstrong Turnacliff

Ann Armstrong Turnacliff (affectionately known as "Peeps"), age 91, passed away on December 16, 2024, from natural causes. She was born in Los Angeles on June 18, 1933, to Miriam and Bill Armstrong and was the oldest of 4 children.

Ann grew up in Los Angeles, attending both Marlborough High School and the University of Southern California, where she met her future late husband Joseph Lloyd "Mike" Turnacliff. What followed was a major move to Sacramento where they raised their family of four children. She developed such strong relationships that it would be hard to believe she didn't grow up here. Ann loved to travel, especially to the beach, Carmel, Lake Tahoe, Hawaii and anywhere for USC football!

For years Ann was active in the Sacramento area, including her early years with the Junior League and later years with Jesuit High School. She spearheaded the movement to prevent Jesuit from being closed in the 70's. Her dedication to this cause was so successful that she had the honor of being chosen as the first woman President of the Board of Trustees.

Ann was an avid golfer into her mid-80s and if there was ever a question, she reminded the family that she held the Turnacliff hole-in-one record with 4.

Ann is survived by her sons John, Bob & Michael (Sarah), grandchildren Kelli & Dale Mitchell (Carolina) and her brothers Jim & John Armstrong and sister Susan Armstrong. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Mike, her husband of 60 years and her daughter Jill.

Ann has been dubbed "a Sacramental original" by many who knew her for 70 years and she will be sorely missed.

The family will be holding a private service for Ann. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Jesuit High School
