Aaron Anderson was born on August 17, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, to Geraldine Harris Anderson and Lehnberg Anderson II.  He accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized by Pastor Albert Tillman at Greater Mount Hebron Baptist Church. Aaron received his education in Chicago, attending Stagg Elementary School before graduating from Calumet High school.

Aaron Anderson and Mary Cole met in August of 1985, and were together for a total of 19 years. Throughout their relationship, they welcomed a daughter, Erika Jeniece Anderson, and Aaron adopted Mary’s two children, Julia Roberts and Janice Murphy, treating them as if they were his own. Aaron and Mary got married on April 18, 2001, and were happily married for three years until Mary passed away on August 8, 2004. Aaron was a devoted father and always made sure to protect his family. He had a positive attitude and loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He enjoyed sharing his stories and memories with others and always had a good time when going out.

Aaron had a natural talent for art. He was skilled in both drawing and playing the piano. He pursued his passion for music by playing at various gigs and performing for different churches. He also took his artistic abilities to the construction industry and joined a union to work as a construction worker. He helped build homes and warehouses until he suffered a tragic accident that left him disabled. Despite this setback, he continued his love for music, playing the organ and piano and performing at different churches.

On February 14, 2024, Aaron passed away. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie Ann Thomas and Theodore R Thomas, his brother Lehnberg Anderson III, his wife Mary Cole Anderson, his mother Geraldine Harris Anderson, his step-daughter Julia Roberts, and his mother-in-law Lorine Hackett.

He is survived by his daughter, Erika Anderson; his step-daughter, Janice Murphy; his grandchildren Jeneice and J’Shaun George; Special nephews, Shaun George Sr. and Reginald Freeman; Special Nieces Leialonnie Anderson and Tanya Jones; his sisters Denise M. Anderson and Gloria Jean Anderson; his brothers: Nathan, Jerome, Solomon and Arnold; his brother-in-law Joseph Curry; nieces and nephews: Richard, Joseph, Jessica, Robyn, Jennifer, Tayja, Rakiya, Richaud, Rasonte, Tiffany, Miatha, Hakeem, and Maverick; his cousins Maggie Harris, Pamela Belton, Mary Jean and Marla; and a host of other special friends and relatives. Those that were close to his wife, our mother, Lisa, Hyati, Jamila, Bunny and Armondo, he often thought fondly of you.

May his soul rest in peace.
