Sept. 16, 1924 - Dec. 29, 2011 Anne, 87, passed peacefully to the Light December 29, 2011, after a short illness. She was born on September 16, 1924 in the family home to James and Ellen Horgan. Anne was the youngest of four children and attended Holy Angels Grammar School and St. Joseph's Academy High School. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, and was recognized as being exceptionally kind and generous. Throughout her life she practiced the adage that if you don't have anything nice to say then do not say anything at all. She always showed great love and devotion to her Faith, family and friends along with many cats and several dogs. She was a long time volunteer at Maryhouse and a strong supporter of Catholic religious orders, including the Presentation Sisters (from South Cork, Ireland), the Sisters of Mercy and the Sisters of the Holy Rosary of Fatima in Salvatierra, Mexico. Anne is survived by her husband of 61 years, Michael, her brother James, sons James and William (Jane) Donovan, daughters Gloria Donovan, Linda (Mike Wonderly) Donovan, and Joan (Gary) Bonin, as well as six grandchildren; Alicen, Rob, and Mike Leggett, Elizabeth and Michael Donovan, and Amanda Bonin, many nieces and nephews and her two lifelong friends from 1st grade, twins Dolores and Dorothy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Elizabeth Scott and Ellen Lewis. Services will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery on Wednesday January 4, 2012 at 11:00 am.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Maryhouse or to the Union of Presentation Sisters, c/o Sr. Vianney, 306 Palomar Ct., San Bruno, CA 94066.
