Gerald 'Jerry' Arthur O'Hare was born in Sacramento, CA, on February 11, 1933 and passed away in Clovis, CA on July 29, 2011 after a more than 3-year battle with cancer. Jerry was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn in 1998 after 42 years of marriage. Jerry and Marilyn raised 4 children whom they loved and supported in all of their endeavors. Jerry had 9 grandchildren who he adored (and one great-grandchild on the way). Jerry was a proud veteran of the US Army. He served two years of active duty in Korea, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Professionally, Jerry spent his career as a public servant which included a stint with the Sacramento Fire Department, a position in the City of Porterville Planning Department. He concluded his 40-plus year career with the Placer County Planning Department. He was a devout Catholic, an Irishman who cherished his Celtic heritage and enjoyed sharing some blarney while raising a glass now and again. Jerry was an accomplished pianist, enjoyed fishing (sort of), and loved researching his Gaelic origins and sharing Irish traditions with friends and family. Slainte!
