Stroube was born on April 19, 1929, in Bloomington, Indiana, and died on September 17, 2011, at home in Carmichael, of respiratory failure. He is survived by his wife Patty. After graduating from Indiana University in 1951, he joined the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the Air Force in 1971. Stroube went on to become a Health Care Administrator at Pioneer House, Pioneer Tower and Trinity House here in Sacramento until 1994, when he retired for good.
