Ronald G. Robinson

Ronald Gene Robinson was born on December 12, 1938 and passed on December 21, 2011. Ronald was a native of Woodland, Ca. and a resident of Sacramento for more than 40 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia of 55 years, 3 children; Kim, Jeff and Pam and 7 grandchildren; Chase, Tanner, Parker, Kaitlyn, Joe, Sam, and Emma. Ronald passed peacefully in Sacramento, Ca. He was an active member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and served as President of CSI from 1991-1992. He was business partners with John Nunan and Glen Thomas at the John D. Nunan Company supplying TrusJoist products that are the framework for many commercial buildings we drive by today. He received several sales awards from TrusJoist over the years and set the bar high for salesmen that were to follow him. That partnership with John and Glen formed a lifelong friendship. Ronald was an adventurist with a passion for the great outdoors. When family and friends speak of him we often get the comment, What hasnt he done Which of course to that comment we smile so proudly. His spirit and love for the great outdoors has been embedded deeply into each one of his family and friends. He was an avid sailor of which he sailed the British Virgin Islands several times, helicoptered skied, triathlete, mountain biker, tennis player, golfer, backpacking in the desolation wilderness, skydiver, and raced cars at Sears Point. One of his greatest accomplishments was learning to fly a private plane. Once he mastered the art of flying he did something that we are all so very proud of; He participated in the TransAtlantic Air Rally in 1985 a crossing from New York to Paris in his single prop, Cessna Skylane. Ronald also, volunteered his time by piloting the Sight Savers Group along with Dr. Willis Pickle and his team of specialists to Mexico to aid the less fortunate to give them the opportunity to see again. Those trips alone did so much for so many people and in many ways exemplifies what Ronald was about. Ronald left all of us way to young and will be missed dearly. His love of the great outdoors, and his personality and charm are distinct qualities that we will remember and cherish in each of our lives. Good bye for now, and thank you for being such a wonderful husband, father, and friend. The Funeral Service/Mass will be held on Thursday, December 29th at 10.00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 39th and J Street in Sacramento, Ca. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Lions Sight Savers Group, Alzheimers disease or a charity of your choice.
