Mary Catherine Riehl

Mary Catherine Riehl, born on March 12, 1924, was called to heaven while surrounded by her family, on May 10, 2012. Beloved wife of William Riehl for 66 years, she was a native of Sacramento, and attended St. Joseph's Academy High School. She also graduated from CSU Sacramento with a degree in Social Work. Beloved mother of Billy Riehl (preceded in death), Steve Riehl(Mary Jo), Mary Anne Campos(Gerry), Joseph Riehl (Suzy), Tony Riehl (Siobhan). Beloved grandmother of Tim, Pete, and John Riehl (Tricia); David, Tony, and Caity Campos; Hilary, Amy,and Mary (Molly) Riehl; and Meghan, Michael, Elizabeth (Missy) and John Riehl. She has been an active member of Sacred Heart Church for over 49 years. Mary used her degree in Social Work to open two Senior Citizens drop in centers in Sacramento and West Sacramento. She also served as a certified chaplain at Mercy Hospital for 7 years. Mary was known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a true servant of the Lord. Her profound faith and extraordinary devotion to the Blessed Virgin served as a shining example to all who knew her. Services are as follows: Rosary at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 14 at Sacred Heart Church, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 2:30.
