Mac passed on peacefully in Sacramento, on May 26, 2012. He rejoins his beloved wife, the late Betty Jane MacKenzie, who preceded him in death last year. He is lovingly survived by his daughter Lisa Sorensen and granddaughter MacKenzie Anne Sorensen (the baby), as well as his brother Arnold MacKenzie, and son-in-law, John Sorensen. Son of the late Hattie & Walter MacKenzie, brother of the late Evelyn MacKenzie and beloved uncle to the late Heather MacKenzie. He will always be thought of as 'Grampy' to David & Michael Droppo and Pilar Yeaman. He was a draftsman for the State of California for over 30 years, he belonged to the Masons, Blue Lodge, enjoyed playing golf and the trombone. He was a true animal lover having many pets throughout the years. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage and his service to our country in the military. Dad was one of the last of the 'Greatest Generation.' A native of Middleboro, MA, he was 89 years of age. Friends are welcome to attend a graveside service on June 29, 2012, at 2:30pm, at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd. Donations in his name may be sent to the local SPCA.
