James "Jim" Michael Mcnamara

Jim passed away surrounded by his family on June 13. Beloved husband for 56 years to Mildred Petralli. Loving father of Patti Wagstaff (Joseph) and Thomas (Julie). Devoted grandfather to Jennifer, Alex, and John Wagstaff and Kelsey, Jimmy, and Joe McNamara. He is survived by his siblings Mary Kessinger, John and Francis and many nieces and nephews. He now rejoins his parents John and Josephine and sister Anne. Jim attended St. Francis parochial school and graduated from Christian Brothers H.S. in 1947. An All-City shortstop at CB, Jim then played in the New York Giants organization for several minor league seasons. After professional baseball, Jim served successfully for 34 years in various administrative positions in the Sacramento County Court system, retiring in 1987. Jim then began a 25 year senior softball career that continued until his recent illness. Jim's life was marked by an affable nature and a spirit of service to others that was the fruit of his Catholic faith, honed by his LaSallian education. A Rosary will be held on Monday, June 18 at 7:30 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 660 Florin Rd. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 19 at 11:30 am also at St. Anthony Church.
