George H. Phillips

George H. Phillips, devout Catholic and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on September 27th 2012, in Sacramento, CA, at the age of 71. George, a native New Yorker, American patriot, and Navy veteran, lived in California for nearly 51 years. Never at a loss for words, facts, or interests, George was an avid hobbyist, history buff, and film aficionado. Though trained as an electrical engineer, George relished advising others and focused his career on sales and marketing management. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, and prior to his passing, wished to express heartfelt gratitude for the assistance and family support graciously extended by his fellow knights, and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Lois; three children, Laura, Victoria, and Andrew; five grandchildren, Candice, Ashley, Aaron, Abby, and Harmony; and great grandchild, Olivia. George was preceded in death by his parents, Stella and George, and his two younger sisters, Joanne and Virginia. On Thursday, October 4th, viewing service will be held at W.F. Gormley & Sons Chapel from 10a.m. to 3:00p.m, followed by a 5:00 p.m. Rosary at St. Stephen the First Martyr Church. On Friday, October 5th, at 12: 15, a solemn high mass will be celebrated at St. Stephen the First Martyr Church, with interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. George and his family have requested that donations be made to The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter or St. Stephen the First Martyr church.
