Simpson, Harold G., Lt. Col.(retired), USAF Harold passed away peacefully at his residence in Sacramento, Ca. on October 22, 2012. He honored his country by serving in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired Lieutenant Colonel. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, especially his banjo group. A funeral service will be held at 10:15am on Friday, November 09, 2012 at W.F. Gormley & Sons Chapel, 2015 Capitol Ave. He will be laid to rest with full Military honors later that day in Anderson, California. Harold G. Simpson passed away October 22, 2012 at the age of 92. He was born May 5, 1920 in Shasta County, California to Harold G. and Alva (Emmons) Simpson. He was a retired USAF Lt. Col. and was very proud of his service. His only child, Cheri (Simpson) Curd-Rhind was born to he and first wife Patricia Louise Childers. Harold and 2nd wife, Laura Mae (Bussell) Simpson were members of the Sacramento Military Officers Association and the Sacramento Banjo Band. In addition to his daughter and both wives, he was preceeded in death by his parents and sister, Francis Catherine (Simpson) Gunn. He is survived by his grandchildren Laura (Roger) Brown of Durham, CA; Brad Curd of Phoenix; Kevin (Kristi) Curd of Lake Preston, South Dakota; 8 grandchildren; a neice and nephew. He was especially happy to have been able to attend his oldest granddaughter Kayla's wedding this past June in Chico, CA. He is also survived by his stepchildren Donald (Rhonda) Daumann; Larry (Shaana) Daumann; Debra (Richard) Wildenhaus; Gail (Mitchell) Miller; numerous step- grandchildren and great grandchildren. A private gravesite service was held on November 9, 2012. He was laid to rest at Anderson District Cemetery in Anderson, California near his mother Alva and her parents.
