Miles James Treaster Sr.

Passed away at the age of 74 on Friday, November 9, 2012, at his home in Sacramento. He was born on March 15, 1938, in Sacramento to Miles LaMar Treaster & Lorene Waggoner (both deceased). His family also includes siblings: Kathy and Bob Treaster and Gerald Treaster (deceased); children: Miles James Treaster Jr. and Eileen Whitfield; and grandchild: Miles James Treaster III. He graduated from McClatchy High School and UC Berkeley with a BA in Design. Miles served in the Marine Corps and began working at 'Treaster and Green,' his father's furniture company in the mid 1960's. In 1979, Miles bought the company and renamed it 'Miles Treaster & Associates.' He grew the business to become the largest Herman Miller Furniture distributor in the Central Valley. He retired in 2006 and sold the company to his employees. Service will be held Sunday, November 18th at 3pm at W.F. Gormley & Sons, 2015 Capital Avenue, Sacramento.
