Marcia C. Vincent

Surrounded by love, Marcia died peacefully at her home on November 13, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her family of friends and her loyal yellow lab, Maya. Marcia was born on April 17, 1945 in Newton, MA to Charles and Patricia Furbush. She graduated from Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, CA in 1963 and from Humboldt State University with a BA in Physical Education in 1970. She had a rewarding 31-year career as a Social Worker with the County of Sacramento where she spent many satisfying years with the Conservator's Office and the Employment and Training program. Marcia deeply cared for her clients and had a unique skill for bringing out the best in those she served. Marcia was also very involved in sports and was an avid Sacramento Monarchs fan. She played on softball, field hockey and volleyball traveling teams and leagues, and played basketball during college. She was also very involved in bowling leagues from 1980-1997, and once had a 299 high score. She has also been an avid golfer since the early 90's and spent nearly every Saturday morning on the golf course.
