'Nick' was born August 16, 1920 and passed away November 26, 2012 at the age of 92. He attended Sacramento schools and served in the Army Air Corps During WWII, flying 51 missions in a B-17. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Myrtle, and his son Tom. His daughter Mary Jo preceded him in death in 1955. Nick was a Sacramento City fireman for 37 years, retiring as a Battalion Chief. After retirement, he and Myrtle moved to Auburn and were active in volunteer work for the Sisters of Mercy. A Catholic Mass will be held Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at 11:00am in the St. Joseph's Chapel at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Ave. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nick's Memory to the Sisters of Mercy Retirement Fund, Sisters of Mercy West Midwest Community, 535 Sacramento St., Auburn, CA 95603-5699.
