Charles G. Smith

Charlie passed on in Sacramento on January 30, 2013. Beloved Husband of 14 years of Florence A. Smith. Loving Father of Charlie Smith Jr., Linda Mantzavinos and Kathy Wiegman. Son of the late Cordelia and William Smith Brother to Lucille of Mass., Larry and his late bother Frank. Cherished grandfather of Chas (Emma), Chris and Kim Wiegman. He had a special affection for his great grandchildren, Kaeleigh, Casen and Cole, as well as his extended family. A native of the Philippines and a resident of Sacramento for 14 years, aged 86. He was a retired Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He later worked in the insurance industry and was a proprietor of a retail establishment in Hawaii. He was a member of the Elks and was also a Kaiser Hospice volunteer for 10 years. He enjoyed traveling, dancing, gardening and spending time with his friends and family. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at 11:00am, at St. Joseph Chapel, inside St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Ave., Sacramento. Interment with military honors followed. He will be deeply missed.
