Cliff was born July 21st1931 in Los Angeles, CA and passed away peacefully at home on February 11th, 2013 at the age of 81. He was the son of the late George E. and Marguerite (Scarich) Haskell. He was married on December 3rd, 1955 to Matilda (Tillie) Schiro. Cliff was a loving father, grandfather & great grandfather. Son, Dr. Bradley Haskell (deceased) and Susie of Oklahoma City, OK; Daughter, Deanne (Isaac) Castaneda of Sacramento, CA. Grandchildren: Rebecca (Sam) Colgate of Oklahoma City, OK, Brandon (Jessica) of Moore, OK; Alec & Kyle Castaneda of Sacramento, CA; David, Natalia, & Samuel Haskell of Oklahoma City, OK. Great-Grandchildren: Alyssa & Jordan Haskell. Sister: Shirley (Marv) Rahn. Brother: Clyde (Anne) Haskell (deceased). Also survived by close family friend, Gerry Adam, who was like a son to him. Cliff started his career with the U.S. Coast Guard and served honorably until his discharge, at which time he joined the Sacramento Fire Department. He rose to the rank of Captain and retired after 30+ years of service. As a result of a tragic accident that occurred in the 70's, Cliff saw the need for a specialized burn care center in the Sacramento area. With the help of the Sacramento Area Fire Fighters, Local 522, he founded the Firefighter's Pacific Burn Institute, now the Firefighter's Burn Institute. He was Executive Director of the Institute for over 20 years and served as the Executive Director Emeritus until his death. Cliff will be remembered for his loyalty and dedication to his family and to the Firefighter community and will be greatly missed. A viewing will be held at W.F. Gormley & Sons Chapel, 2015 Capitol Ave, on Mon. Feb. 18 from 5-8pm. Funeral Services will be private. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Tues.
