Don Perkovich died at his home on February 24, 2013 surrounded by his family and guarded by his friends. Don was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 25, 1942. The Sacramento attorney of nearly 35 years had a larger than life personality. He easily fit two lifetimes into just this one. The stories are legend - right up to the end. Don had a generous heart - be it to give advice, time, or money. Don was many things - Marine, Cal alum, accountant, professor, lawyer, loyal Raiders and River Cats fan, avid hunter, fantastic cook, world traveler - but above all, he was a beloved husband, father, papa and friend. Don's main focus in life was always his family. It included many beloved friends who were part of the revolving door at the Perkovich home. Don passed in the arms of his wife of 30 years, Nancy Perkovich, and surrounded by his children, Donald Jr., Michael, Matthew and Julia. His loyal hunting dog Zeke was at his feet. Don is also survived by his son Steven and his two granddaughters, Emily and Stevie Nicole, whom he dearly loved. Sunday family dinners were a cornerstone of the Perkovich Family, so it was fitting that Don passed after dinner on Sunday night. Don's ashes will be spread over his favorite hunting grounds by his close family in lieu of a service. Donations can be made to the Nebraska One Box Foundation in his honor.
