Jean was born in Detroit, Michigan on May, 1, 1943 and passed away April 14, 2013 at 69 years of age. Jean was a 1966 graduate from UC Berkeley with a degree in anthropology, and a 1991 graduate from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. As an AV rated attorney, Jean was regarded as one of the top lawyers in her field, which included Estates, Trusts, and Conservatorships. In addition to her successful solo practice, Jean also served as a faculty member at Humphreys College in Stockton and Sacramento, National University, and American River College. Jean was well known for her service to women, the elderly, and the disabled, and for mentoring young/new lawyers. Her awards for service are too numerous to mention. Hundreds of our region's best attorneys owe their start to encouragement, support, and introductions from Jean. She was the 2002 President of the Women Lawyers of Sacramento, and an ongoing and energetic leader of the SCBA Delegation to the Conference of California Bar Associations and Operation Protect & Defend. She changed many lives for the better. She is survived by lots of family and friends who she treated as family. Services to be held at Trinity Cathedral, 2620 Capital Avenue, Sacramento, CA on Friday, April 19th at 11:00 a.m
