Margaret passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2013. She is survived by her loving husband, Pete Hawkins and family. She was born on July 4, 1955 in Sacramento, California to the late Dr. Edward W. and Margaret Gastaldi Beach. She attended Hiram Johnson High School and earned a teaching credential and a Master's Degree from National University in Sacramento, California. She worked at Kennedy High School, and the Sacramento Children's Home. In addition to her loving husband, she will be deeply missed by stepchildren, Cari (Jason), Adam (Becca), Matt, and Nathan (Savannah). She is also survived by sister, Laura McCoy (Bob). She was predeceased by her brother, Edward. She was the cherished grandmother of Deja, Ashlyn, Carson, Kendal, Braxton, Mayn, Kylie, Baron, Noah, and Callen. Margaret was the caring aunt of Karen and Scott Phillips, and the affectionate great-aunt of Jayden and Cameron Phillips. Margaret adored animals, and will be sadly missed by her four-legged children, Chip, Pantera, and Bun Bun. She spent many years volunteering at the S.P.C.A., and was a member of the Sacramento Assistance League. Some of her hobbies and interests were: cooking, gardening, exercising, riding her three- wheel Harley, spending time at her cabin at Lake Tahoe, and searching for antiques. Margaret was known for her lively personality and her generous heart. She will be deeply missed by her family and fondly remembered by her many loving friends. Private interment took place in Elk Grove. Donations can be made in her honor to The American Cancer Society, or The Assistance League of Sacramento.
