In Sacramento on July 14 with her daughter at her side after a long an valiant battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was the beloved wife of the late George J. "Sam" Gocke, loving mother of Diann Lynn Velaga, daughter of the late Anton and Zlata Velaga, sister of Josephine, Ann (Stilleke), Millie, Elizabeth (Babe), and the late Joseph and John. Aunt of Richard Stilleke, Joan Stilleke, and Jason Conlee, great aunt of Matt Conlee. A native of Sacramento, California, she was 88 years of age. Mary was a passionate gardner growing more than 65 varieties of roses. She was a Sacramento Solons and San Francisco Giants fan, and in her early years did modeling and was on local T.V. variety shows, landing a bit part in the Dean Martin/Susan Hayward movie "Ada" which was filmed in Sacramento. A Rosary/Vigil service was held at W.F. Gormley & Sons Chapel, 2015 Capitol Avenue on Thursday, July 18, at 4:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered for the repose of her soul at St. Joseph's Chapel inside St. Mary's Cemetery, on Friday at 10:00am.
