Amador August

A native of Sacramento, California, Amador August passed peacefully on August 6, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Greta Lou, daughters and their husbands, Cynthia & Charlie Barr, Mike & Debbie Williamson, Lou Ann & Roger Ghilain, grandchildren Tracie & Eric Guillen, Trische & Geoff Olander, Mac, Zakary & Colleen Williamson, Todd Barr, Natalie & Courtney Ghilain, his sister Jo Ann and husband Joe Cabral. He was further blessed with 4 great grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, and Brandon Guillen and Gabriella Olander, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Machado, brothers Manuel and Frank August. He has been an active member of Southside Improvement Club and Cabrillo Club #5. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII. He loved to hunt and garden, travel and was happiest when surrounded by his family. Friends were invited to attend a Rosary Service on Monday, August 12th at 7:30pm at W.F. Gormley & Sons, 2015 Capitol Ave., Sacramento, CA. A Mass of Christian Burial and Resurrection was held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 1817 12th Street, Sacramento, CA. on Tuesday, August 13th, 2013, at 10:00 am. Remembrances can be made to St. Elizabeth Church or a charity of your choice.
