Born in San Francisco on November 23, 1948, William passed on at home in Sacramento with family at his side on September 1, 2013. A 1966 graduate from Norte Del Rio H.S., he served in the Vietnam War as a Marine. He was a proud and active member of the VA Center in Citrus Heights. He earned his J.D. at McGeorge School of Law and worked for the Sacramento Sheriffs Department as well. He loved construction and made that his career. He now rejoins his father, the late William A. Garrison, his brother the late Daniel Garrison and will be deeply missed by his mother, Patricia T. Garrison, his children: William, Ryan (Sara) and Kerry (Jeff) as well as his grandchildren: William, Kailey, Imogen and Ilora all of Sacramento. He is also survived by siblings, Kim Kirkpatrick (Kirk) of Temecula, Patricia Marie Garrison of Sacramento and brother Kelly Garrison of Los Angeles. He was the uncle of Michael Kirkpatrick (Jodi, and children Dylan & Madison), Kathlene Ceklovsky (Michael & son Aidan.) He is also survived by former wife, Karen Bair. His motto was, "It is in giving that you receive." No one was a stranger to him especially other vets in need. He could fix anything, was a math whiz and a voracious reader. He will be deeply missed. Friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial which was be offered for the repose of his soul on Friday, September 6, 2013, at 1:00pm, at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 7101 Verner Road in Sacramento. Committal with Military Honors followed as well as a reception to share memories.
