Passed away suddenly at age 87 on September 7, 2013 after struggling with Alzheimer's disease for the last 7-8 years. Kay was born to Serafino and Maria Ferdani on July 21, 1926 in Plymouth, CA. She was the youngest of 7-children and the last to survive. Kay was raised in Jackson, CA, near Martell, and graduated from Jackson High School in 1944. Kay was pre-deceased by her husband James "Red" De Angelis and son Rodney De Angelis. She is survived by 3-children, Jim De Angelis (Janet), Bonnie Stormont, Michael De Angelis (Leda), 9-grandchildren and 14-great grandchildren. Kay loved her golf and was a member of Valley Hi Country Club for many years. Kay and Jim traveled with the Western Seniors Golf Association. They enjoyed playing golf all over the country together. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and socializing with her many friends. Her first love was always her large family and she will be sorely missed by all. Kay was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish. A Rosary was held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 7:00pm at W.F. Gormley & Sons funeral home, 2015 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial and Resurrection took place at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3159 Land Park Drive, Sacramento, CA. on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 11:00am.
