Rose Marie Thompson

Born in Fresno, CA on May 22, 1926, Rose passed in Sacramento on October 10, 2013, at the age of 87. She was a long-time resident of Sacramento and worked as a nurse's aide at Sutter General for 20 years. She is lovingly survived by her children, Joseph Gilmette (Lori), David Gilmette (Kathy) and Angela Gilmette. She was a loving sister to Amelia Corry and Delores Senna. She was a proud grandmother to Carisse Tidwell (Ryan), Robert Gilmette, Michael Gilmette, Brianna Gilmette and great-grandmother to Reina, Carter and Chase Tidwell. There is a special place in her heart for longtime friend and partner, James Vance. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She now rejoins those who have gone before her including parents, John and Julia Senna, and siblings Everett, Joseph, Alvio, Edward and Elvera Senna and Mary Penka. She loved music and dancing as well as shopping and spending time with her family & friends. Friends were welcomed for visitation at W.F. Gormley & Sons on Oct. 18, 2013, between 3pm and 6pm. The funeral service was held at Gormleys on Oct. 19, at 10:00am. Private Interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery.
