Ann passed away in Sacramento on Saturday, November 9. Born on November 11, 1918 in Utica, New York, Ann was the second of three daughters of Joseph and Roccatella Falotico. On September 5, 1949 Ann married Daniel 'Danny' Melchiorre and their marriage lasted 62 years. By 1952 they relocated to Sacramento and were longtime East Sac residents. Ann continued her career as a beautician until retiring in 2005. They attended many performances under the tent at the Music Circus and enjoyed dancing in the New Year at Elks Lodge #6. Danny & Ann liked to travel, and Ann was an active parishioner of St. Mary's Church for more than 60 years. Known for her determination, she maintained an elegant home, had an impeccable person style, and loved preparing Italian meals, often with fruits and vegetables grown in their garden. Ann loved to bake and was in her prime at Easter and Christmas when the kitchen overflowed with homemade Italian delights. Ann is survived by her daughters Maria Melchiorre and Roxanne Edwards (Alden); grandsons Joseph Peterson (Holly) and Curtis Peterson (Crystal), great-grandchildren Talan, Evan, Ariss, and Carter, and sister Rockatell 'Dolly' Pooley. Ann is survived by many in-laws, other relatives, and devoted friends Diana Nicolaou, Timmy Cline, Lori Stickel, and Johanna Grosklos. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Danny, her parents and her sister Carmela Schiavone. A Vigil service was held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at 5pm at W.F. Gormley & Sons, 2015 Capitol Avenue. The Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, November 14, 2013, 10am, at St. Mary's Church, 58th Street. Interment was privately held at St. Mary's Cemetery.
