Known to many as "Cookie", Phyllis Moncharsh Sockolov will be missed by many. Phyllis was the youngest daughter of the late Sophie and Abe Moncharsh. She was born in San Francisco on December 7th, 1930, and passed away peacefully on December 11th, 2013 in Roseville, California. She attended Lowell High School and graduated from San Francisco State University. She met the love of her life husband Ron, and treasured their 62 years of marriage. During her lifetime her greatest asset was providing a smile to everyone she came in contact with. Cookie loved her family, always wanted to do for others, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her daily example to her children of living with kindness, humor, love and happiness was a gift to us all. She is going to be greatly missed. She was involved with the Lowell High School Axe Club, Mt Zion Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, and was a long time member of Temple Emanu El. Cookie was also an avid bridge and poker player, who loved Broadway musicals, her dogs, and always enjoyed her afternoon nap. She was preceded in death by her late husband Dr. Ronald Sockolov DDS, her sisters Corinne Sobel and Samele Samuel. Cookie is survived by her three children; son Ronald (Deborah), son Alvin (Ellen) and daughter Sophie (Greg), as well as six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. We strive to carry on her example with all of the people in our lives. Thank you for being such a beautiful person mom. A funeral service was held at Home of Peace Cemetery, 1299 El Camino Real, in Colma, California on December 15th at 10:00AM, followed by a celebration of life.
