Dee Ann Smith

Dee Ann Smith Robert A. Smith Dee Ann Smith, 80, a resident of Alameda since childhood, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Sacramento, CA. Dee was born in Cement, Oklahoma on August 15, 1933, the oldest child of Jack and Elsie Newell. Dee graduated from Alameda High School and was married to Bob Smith for 34 years. Dee worked for Penzoil Corp. as a PBX operator until her retirement. Dee was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents and sister, Rebecca. Robert A. Smith of Alameda, CA passed away on January 9, 2010. Bob was born to Stanley and Cecile Smith on May 25, 1932 in Huntington Beach, CA. Bob graduated from Albany High School and the University of California, Berkeley in 1954 with a degree in Business Administration. Bob served in the United States Army in Germany from 1954-1956 and worked for the majority of his professional career at Yandell Truckaway until his retirement. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. Bob and Dee are survived by daughters Cheri (Mahandra), Donna (Peter) and Susan (Kelly), brother Doyle Newell, brother-in-law Ron Spadoni, grandchildren Christina, Michelle, Melody, Duncan, Michelle, Kate, Robert, Connor, Richard, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Graveside services for Bob and Dee was held Friday, December 20, 2013 at Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito, CA at 1:00pm.
