SCHAUER, Irvin Richard 6/07/1930 - 1/29/2014 Irv was born in Sacramento to Reynhold and Magdalena Feickert Schauer and lived in Elk Grove most all of his life. In 1948 he graduated from Elk Grove High School. For the next few years he worked doing liquor displays, at a State of California parking garage. He then spent four years in the US Navy on the Wasp & Hornet Air Craft Carriers. In 1955 he started work for the Sacramento/ Yolo Mosquito & Vector Control District where he retired 41 years later as District Manager. He enjoyed fishing and playing racquetball. He has many trophies. He also took pleasure in caring for his canines, The last two, 'Jake' & 'Hot Shot' miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife, Betty, son Richard (Connie) Schauer, daughter Lynn Biglow (Kenny), brother Edwin (Betty) Schauer, sisters Alvina Higgins and Lillian Roemer.He was a proud grandfather to Lacy (Scott) Edwards, Haley (Jake) DeVore, Bobby (Brandy) Biglow and was a great-grandfather to Marshall Biglow and Lucas Edwards.Preceded in death by his parents, the late Carol Schauer, the mother of his children, brothers-in-law Ivan Higgins and Bill Roemer.The family extends special thanks to the many caregivers at Kaiser Permanente ER, their hospital staff & doctors; the staff at Memory Care Primrose in Greenhaven; and several caregivers from Home Instead, especially (Jonathan De la Cruz and Terri Sue Bone); and the staff at Rose Court in Elk Grove.
