Nadine Loris passed away, in Sacramento on Feb. 13, 2014 surrounded in love. Preceded in death by her husband Chris Loris and mother Rebecca Timmons, sisters, Betty Faria and Shirley Zellers. Brothers, Donald Raynor and Charles Joiner. Survived by her children, Sandra Hood (Ken), Janis Loris Shaad, and Christina Loris. Grandchildren, Rebecca Hood, Krista Hood-Broche (Ben), Christopher Shaad, Sarah Shaad-Abrams (Brett). Brothers, Glenn Raynor and Bobby Raynor. Cousins, Wanda Ponder, Jerry Stewart (Sue), Eugene Stewart (Helen) and Rick Williams. Many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Raised in Cairo Ill., Nadine was born to a family rich in history. The stories of which were told and retold to great enjoyment of family and friends. Nadine was a loving mother and skilled homemaker to her husband of 55 years and three daughters. Honoring her husbands Greek heritage, she learned to cook amazing Greek dishes and pastires that rivaled the best. She was a fabulous cook in general, to the great enjoyment of family and friends who graced her table. Nadine was an artist of numerous paintings and learned to upholster furniture for her lovely home. She had a profound influence upon the lives of many, some of which she never knew whose stories have just come to light. Nieces, childrens friends, and neighbors. She loved to dance and enjoyed music, especially country classics. Our beautiful, elegant mother, our first love, our friend, our rock. She was deeply loved, cherished and admired. Until we meet again, she resides in our hearts and lives in our very souls. We thank those who were able to join us to celebrate Nadine's life. Friends and family were invited to a Trisagion Service on Wed. February 19, 2014 at 7pm at WF Gormley & Sons 2015 Capitol Avenue. On February 20, 2014 at 12 noon, family and friends were also invited to attend a service at The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Alhambra Boulevard & F. Street in Sacramento. Interment followed at East Lawn Memorial Park on Folsom Boulevard. She will be greatly missed. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
