On February 24, 2014 at 9:16am Mary V. Basgall, who was 84 years young, transitioned from the world as we know it, into a place of peace and tranquility. She will be reunited with her husband of fifty-seven years Harry, and the many other loving family member's who will be there to greet her. She left this world in the presence of her daughter Debbie Karpf, her two sons Kurt and Scott, and her daughters-in-law Maricela Basgall and Debbie Garduno. As well she leaves behind three loving grandchildren Lisa, Adam, and Grace who will miss her dearly. Mary was an extremely generous woman who grew up on a farm in Kansas, survived the dust storms of the 1930's, and the great depression. Mary never said no to helping people whether it was volunteering for her church parish, St. Ignatius of Loyola, working with seniors at the convalescent home, or volunteering at Kaiser Hospital where she worked for 25 years. She was always there to lend a helping hand, not just with her service, but Mary gladly donated money regularly to many, many charities monthly because for her, it was the right thing to do. Mary was a strong woman, a gentle mother and loving grandmother who was always there to support her family and children. Mary Basgall will be greatly missed. Services will be held at St. Mary's Church, 1333 58th Street, Sacramento, CA at 10:00am on Friday, February 28th, 2014.
