John P. Morgan

A resident of Sacramento since 1922. Born in Hartford, AR. Faithful husband of his adored wife Lola "Sissie". Caring father of five children; Michelle (deceased), Brent and Mark Morgan, Robyn Sabado (Danny) and Maureen Morgan (deceased). Grandfather to Matthew Leonnig (Stephanie) and Erik Leonnig. He was born to John Casey Morgan and Dewey Faye Brown Morgan. John attended Sacramento High School, Sacramento City College, Golden Gate University, and University of California, Davis. John was blessed with a mellifluous speaking voice. He put it to work in public speaking in the principal cities of the U.S. He also taught administrative management to thousands of managers in the U.S., Mexico and Europe. He was awarded the Leffingwell Medal by the National Office Management Association. John was an advisor to Governor Ronald Reagan and Governor George Deukmejian. He cofounded Friends of Sacramento Public Libraries and initiated the Sacramento Business Conference at CSUS. He was an officer of Cal-Western Life Insurance Company. He taught 2 years as adjunct professor of Management at CSUS. He served in the U.S. Signal Corp in WWII, which included assignment to intelligence activities. Those who knew John appreciated his sense of humor and unquenchable thirst for knowledge. John was President of the Kiwanis Club in Sacramento. He was past Active of 20-30 Club. When he was 25, he discovered what would be his lifelong work, Management Consulting. He retired in 1987; followed by opening his own company. Funeral Service will be at W.F Gormley & Sons, 2015 Capitol Ave, Sacramento, CA on Saturday March 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
