Barbara was born in Sacramento to Gertrude and Charles D. LeMaster. She passed on peacefully in her home which she designed herself in 1965. She will be dearly missed by nieces and nephews: Patricia (Dale) Mahon, of Elk Grove; Peggy (Kent) Daft, of Sacramento; Mike (Linda) Gage, of McKinney, Texas; and Glenn (Ann) Gage of Quincy, Illinois. Barbara now rejoins her beloved husband, the late George Shults as well as their daughter, the late Sandy Shults and her sister, the late MaeBelle Pendergast. A McClatchy High School graduate, Barbara continued her education at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA. She was an accomplished artist and was the owner of Design Merchandisers, specializing in the interior design of model homes for more than 25 years. Barbara was an adoring wife, devoted mother, loyal friend, a fun-loving aunt and a true optimist. She always believed in the best of everyone. She will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humor, her kindness and generosity. She was a lifelong lover of animals and leaves behind her faithful, yellow lab, Paige. Barbara's family is most grateful for her wonderful caregivers during these past few months. Friends are invited to honor Barbara on Sunday, March 9, from 2pm until 4pm at her home. (Parking arrangements have been made). Remembrances may be made to the SPCA or charity of your choice.
