Bill Justis, 66, longtime Sacramento roofing contractor, avid boater, and snow skier, passed away February 27 after a brief illness. Son of Elaine D. and Frederick R. Justis, Bill grew up in West Sacramento, graduating from James Marshall High School. He served proudly in the US Army during Viet Nam, fondly recalling meeting Bob Hope, adopting a pet monkey, and first learning to sail on Cam Ranh Bay. On return to Sacramento, he worked first for the Railroad, then for local roofing companies before fulfilling the dream of opening his own roofing company in 1996 until his death. Bill's personality was big, gregarious, and genuine. He collected friends everywhere with plainspoken, unselfconscious enthusiasm perfectly complementing his beloved wife, Andee. Their home was the gracious, lively, always-open gathering place for innumerable friends. In addition to his wife, Andee, Bill is survived by his son, Michael F. Justis and his mother, Sharon, of Sacramento, and his niece, Kathy Justis, nephews, Ron and Bruce Justis, all of Roseburg, Oregon. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. A tribute to his life will be held at the Sacramento Yacht Club, Saturday, March 29, 2:00PM. Remembrances to the charity of your choice .
